1.) What is the full form of ASME?
AMERICAN STANDARD OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS.

2.) What is the full form of ASTM?
AMERICAN STANDARD FOR TESTING MATERIALS

3.) What is the carbon percentage of IS 2062 Gr A material?
.23% max

4.)What is the reason for baking of electrodes?
To remove the moisture content from the Electrodes.

5.) What are the defects in welding?
Weld crack, Porosity, undercut, Incomplete fusion, Spatter, Slag inclusion

6)Which section we are using for NDT?
 ASME Sec-V

7.) If the welder made test for 15mm thick, what is the thickness range he qualified?
 Qualified for unlimited thickness.

8.) If welder made test by 2’’ dia, what is the range he qualified?
Qualified for minimum is 1’’-dia and maximum is unlimited

9.) What is the testing pressure in hydrotest?
1.5 Times of design pressure.

10.) What is the meaning of P number and F number?
P is base metal grouping number.
F is filler metal grouping number.

11.) What are the defects in welding?
Weld crack, Porosity, undercut, slag inclusion, spatter etc.

12.) In E6013 what is the meaning of 60?
It is the minimum tensile strength in ksi.
